Portrait of a Tibetan woman

Released March, 2017

Portrait of a self-exiled Tibetan woman who has been living in Leh from decades.

Following the Chinese occupation of Tibet, a massive population emigrated from Tibet and found refuge in India, hoping to return to their homeland one day.

In that hope, she runs a small shop of Tibetan artefacts set on the pavement of the Leh's primary market. Locals informed me that she always comes and sets up her shop every single day whether it's 15°C /59°F or -15°C /5°F.

She insisted on me to buy a spoon to open her sale for the day.
